HG Hagesan Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) Ref: HGSEALER

HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator)

Use HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) to impregnate porous terracotta tiles, brick, quarry tiles, victorian tiles, flagstones, un-glazed (porcelain or ceramic) tiles and natural stone floors and walls to protect against stains and stubborn marks.

For Marble, Travertine, Terrazzo, Limestone, Sandstone we recommend HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator which has smaller molecules and it is therefore slightly thinner to penetrate better on semi-porous materials.

To check the porosity of a surface to see if treatment is required use a tablespoon of water on the surface. If after 5-10 minutes none of the water has been absorbed into the surface, the surface is sealed and HG Impregnator is NOT required.

HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) penetrates deep into the surface and completely seals off small pores. Larger pores are made smaller meaning liquid molecules can no longer be absorbed. However any dampness in the floor can still evaporate and the surfaces can still breathe.

HG Impregnating Sealer leaves a matt finish, enhances natural colours and does not contain silicone. HG Impregnator is suitable for inside and outside use.

When using HG Impregnator we recommend using Eye Protection and an Odour Respirator (for poorly vented areas) as well as protective gloves.

For additional protection (after using HG Impregnating Sealer) on brick, slate and other natural stone inside floors apply HG Satin Gloss Polish (Golvpolish). For additional surface protection on Terracotta floor tiles apply HG Terracotta Shine Seal or HG Terracotta Wax - available in two colours.

Coverage: approx. 8-10 m² per litre. 5 m² for 2 coats.

HG Hagesan Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) Usage Instructions
Directions for use:

The surface to be treated with HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) must be perfectly clean and free from grease and dirt. HG Cement Grout Film Remover (HG Extra) cleans off cement and grout stains from new floors.
HG Polish, Wax and Dirt Remover (HG Remover) strips old wax and deep cleans old floors. After rinsing off allow at least 3 days (24 hours with under floor heating) for the surface to dry thoroughly to ensure that HG Impregnator can be fully absorbed. Turn off any floor heating 12 hours before treatment.

Make sure that an existing floor has not yet been treated with HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) or another similar basic treatment. Carry out a porosity test if unsure.

HG Impregnating Sealer is used neat, evenly, in one direction with our Superfine Roller or a Non-Fluffy Cloth. After a maximum of 5 minutes HG Impregnator is drawn into the surface. Remove any excess immediately after this 5 minutes with a dry cloth, dampened if necessary with white spirit. If the Impregnator is fully absorbed and no surplus is required to be wiped off, a second/third treatment may be needed until the HG Impregnator is no longer absorbed.

After treatment with HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) the surface should retain a matt appearance. Allow two hours before applying a second or more coats depending on porosity.
After approx. 4 hours the surface can be walked upon. Stone or brick walls and exterior floors require no further treatment. Clean tools with white spirit.

For additional protection on brick, slate and other natural stone inside floors apply HG Satin Gloss Polish (Golvpolish). For additional surface protection on Terracotta floor tiles apply HG Terracotta Shine Seal, HG Terracotta Wax - available in two colours or HG Terracotta Clear Paste Wax

Over application of HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) is very common - a second coat is rarely needed and excess HG Impregnator needs to be removed quickly. Excess HG Impregnator will sit on the surface and will become sticky and will give a streaky appearance if left. If you are in this situation you will need to use HG Spot Stain Remover to remove the excess. This will not affect the Impregnator that has been applied to the surface already. Once absorbed the treatment of HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) is permanent.

Coverage: 8-10 m² per litre. 5 m² for 2 coats.

Maintenance: 100ml (a cup) of HG Superfloor Shine Cleaner in 10 litres of water.

Attention: Keep in a frost free area. When using HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) we recommend using Eye Protection and an Odour Respirator (for poorly vented areas) as well as protective gloves.

Non-Fluffy Cloths Ref: 760872

Non-Fluffy Cloths

Non-Fluffy 100% Cotton Tea Cloths. These are pre-washed (and so ready to use) and are ideal for the application of a number of HG Hagesan Products.

When using these cloths we recommed using our 7 inch Roller Tray to hold the product.
