HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator

PLEASE NOTE: This product has been re-formulated by the manufacturer as HG Natural Stone Impregnating Protector.

This sealer is now water-based rather than solvent based. This means that the product will be easier to apply and will not have the unpleasant odours associated with solvent based formulas. The product performs better than the previous formulation, is better for the environment and can be applied more easily.

HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator is used to impregnate porous marble, travertine, terrazzo, granito, slate, sandstone, limestone and other natural stone floors and walls to protect against stains and stubborn marks.

For terracotta tiles, brick, quarry tiles, victorian tiles, flagstones, un-glazed (porcelain or ceramic) tiles we recommend HG Impregnator which has larger molecules and it is therefore slightly thicker making it more suitable for more porous materials.

To check the porosity of a surface to see if treatment is required use a tablespoon of water. If after 5-10 minutes none of the water has been absorbed into the surface the surface is sealed.

HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator penetrates deep into the surface and completely seals off small pores. Larger pores are made smaller meaning liquid molecules can no longer be absorbed preventing the formation of stains and dirt. However, any dampness in the floor can still evaporate.

HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator still allows the stone to breathe. Does not change (or hardly changes) the original characteristics of the material. HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator is suitable for inside and outside use.

HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator leaves a matt finish enhances natural colours, does not contain silicone. It is suitable for inside and outside use.

Prior to sealing cement and mortar stains must first be removed with HG Marble and Natural Stone Cement and Lime Film Remover. Grime and old wax and polish layers have to be removed beforehand with HG Marble and Natural Stone Stripper. For really dirty floors use HG Super Remover.

Apply HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator with our Superfine Roller or a Non-Fluffy Cloth. When using this product we recommend using Eye Protection and an Odour Respirator (for poorly vented areas) as well as protective gloves.

For additional protection (after using HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator) on marble, travertine, terrazzo and other natural stone inside floors apply HG Marble and Natural Stone Shine Finish. For slate we recommend HG Satin Gloss Polish (Golvpolish).

HG Hagesan Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator Usage Instructions
Directions for use:

Read all cautions on the container prior to use. Use rubber gloves and Eye Protection.

Make sure that an existing floor has not yet been treated with this or another similar basic treatment. Carry out a porosity test if unsure.

Ensure new floors are completely dry before treating (approx. 4-6 weeks).

For the removal of cement and mortar stains, first clean with HG Marble and Cement and Lime Film Remover. Grime and old wax and polish layers have to be removed beforehand with HG Marble Stripper. Leave the floor to dry for 3 days after using Marble Stripper. For really dirty floors use HG Super Remover.

If necessary mark out the work area. The surfaces to be treated must be completely clean (polish, dust and grime free) and dry.

Apply HG Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator undiluted with our Superfine Roller or a Non-Fluffy Cloth.. Apply only a very thin layer of HG Marble Impregnator and after 5 minutes, remove any possible excess immediately after this 5 minutes with a dry cloth, dampened if necessary with white spirit. If the HG Marble Impregnator is fully absorbed and no surplus is required to be wiped off, a second/third treatment may be needed until the Impregnator is no longer absorbed.

* VERY IMPORTANT: Over application of HG Impregnating Sealer (HG Impregnator) is very common - a second coat is rarely needed and excess HG Impregnator needs to be removed quickly. Excess HG Impregnator will sit on the surface and will give a streaky appearance if left. If the Impregnator is allowed to dry on the surface it CANNOT be removed - it will have to be left to wear off.

Once absorbed the sealer is permanent.

HG Hagesan Marble and Natural Stone Impregnator may intensify colours, particularly when used on dark tiles or tiles with dark colours. If in doubt we recommend that you try the product in an inconspicuous area first.

Coverage: 10-30 m² per litre per layer. 15 m² for two layers

Provide for sufficient ventilation during the application and drying time. If ventilation is poor use our Odour Respirator whilst working.
