Filters are flame retardant according to British Standards (DIN 53438 Class F1). Biodegradeable, chlorine-free bleached. The grease filters are made from natural rayon and cellulose fibres which absorb 80% of fat according to the DIN Norm while the polyester non-woven cheaper alternative filters have only a fraction of that property. After some time of use the saturation indicator stripes turn from grey into red and 'bleed through' the filter, becoming visible. Now the filter has to be replaced with a new one.
