  • Description

    Briwax Liming Wax 220g

Briwax Liming Wax is a smooth white tinted paste wax, formulated to produce a white grained finish in open grained timbers. Particularly effective on oak and similar timbers. It is most effective when applied directly onto the bare wood giving the deep white colouring, but for an even effect it can be applied onto stained and sealed surfaces.

Some woods will benefit from opening the grain with a Liming Brush. Liming Wax can be overcoated with Clear Briwax for a more durable finish.

  • How to use

    Briwax Liming Wax Usage Instructions

Intended Use: To produce a white grained finish in opened grained timbers
Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from any previous finishes. Some woods will benefit from opening the grain first with a Liming Brush. Stain or seal the timber prior to applying the wax.
Application: Work the Briwax Liming Wax into the wood and wipe over with a clean cloth to remove the excess. Liming Wax can be over coated with Clear Briwax to give a more durable finish.
Coats: One application is usually sufficient but a second coat can be applied after 15 minutes
Drying Time: Drying time in good conditions is 15 minutes.
Re-coating: Time 15 minutes. Liming Wax can be over coated with Clear Briwax to give a more durable finish.
    Application Temp. Ideally 15 -20°C
Maintenance Wipe over with clean dry cloth when necessary. Reapply Clear Briwax if necessary.
Compatibility Compatible with all types of timbers. For best results and to prevent a blotchy appearance timber should always be previously sealed with a varnish, oil or Briwax Shellac Sanding Sealer.
Clean-Up Hands and application cloth can be cleaned in warm soapy water.
