Colron Wood Dye Georgian Medium Oak Usage Instructions

Preparation:

Colron Wood Dye should only be used on bare, untreated wood. Remove all previous coatings such as paint, varnish, wax and oil. Sand thoroughly to create a smooth bare surface. Wipe the area with a dampened lint-free cloth to remove any sanding dust. Avoid inhalation of dust, and wear a suitable face mask when sanding. To ensure the Wood Dye is the desired colour please test first on an inconspicuous area.

Application: 

1. Shake well for around 1 minute before use 
2. Tip a small amount of dye onto a lint-free cloth or small piece of sponge
3. Apply the Dye in the direction of the grain working quickly quickly to ensure an even colour is achieved
4. Two coats are generally sufficient, but to create a darker colour apply further coats leaving 1 hour in between each coat
5. Overcoat with Colron Interior Lacquer to protect the surface, allowing 1 hour’s dry time after applying the Wood Dye. If applying on flooring, use an appropriate Floor Varnish

Clean Up:

Allow the cloth to dry and dispose of it safely. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposing of waste coatings. Do not empty into watercourses.
