Description
Rustins Aluminium Wood Primer 250ml
Rustins Aluminium Wood Primer is an oil based primer that is similar in composition to pink and white wood primers but contains aluminium pigment which provides better water resistance.
The leaf grade aluminium pigment contained in the primer provides an effective barrieragainst moisture. Suitable for exterior use.
Applied directly to bare wood it seals the surface and provides adhesion for subsequent coats of paint.
Coverage: 15 m² / litre per coat depending on the absorbency of the surface.

How to use
Rustins Aluminium Wood Primer Usage Instructions
Preparation: Wooden surfaces to be primed must be dry, clean, smooth and free from dust, oil, grease, wax and other contaminants likely to affect adhesion. All knots should be sealed with Rustins Knotting before priming.
Application: Stir thoroughly before and during use. The first coat may be thinned with 10% white spirit if necessary. After priming, holes and cracks may be filled with Rustins Wood Filler.
Coats: 1 or 2 coats depending on requirements.
Drying Time: The primer is touch dry within 2-3 hours depending on temperature and humidity. Allow 12-16 hours to fully dry.
Re-coating Time: 12-16 hours should be allowed before applying undercoat.
Application Temp: Ideally 15-25°C. Do not use below 10°C, or in conditions of high humidity.
Maintenance: Must be covered with an undercoat.
Compatibility: Compatible with all types of paint.
Settlement: Stir well before use.
Clean-Up: Use White Spirit or Rustins Brush Cleaner whilst still wet. If dried on, clean equipment and brushes with Rustins Brush Restorer.

Shelf-life/Storage: The shelf life of the product in an airtight container is a very long period of time. It is preferable to store the product in a cool dry place. It is important to replace the lid and ensure an airtight seal.
Hazards: Flammable. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from sources of ignition. No smoking. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use only in well ventilated areas.
